  • I loved the devotionals and especially the Home Evening activity. It was also fun to get to know the other freshmen in a smaller setting. Thank you!

  • I really enjoyed working with you and hope to do so again in the future.
  • I really liked my class and my teacher. I also liked learning how to swing.
  • I really loved this class. I did not enjoy Sondheim much at all until I came to this class. I have a huge appreciation for his work now.
  • I was very impressed by my professor, especially his efforts to really get to know the students.
  • Interacting with my classmates both inside and outside of class was a highlight. The amazing race was fun and I loved the Sunday night devotional.
  • Just being with friends during devotionals and church and such
  • LSH extends beyond the classrooms of course, and the highlight is from Friday night after classes. Several kids and I piled into a car and hiked the Y. We sat on the top of the Y, looking down at our new domain and talked for hours. It was fabulous to be with such excellent kids right from the beginning.
  • My class really motivated me to do better and inspired me to be more interested in international relations. It was a lot more beneficial than I ever possibly imagined.
  • My class was an obvious highlight; I adored talking about one of my favorite things in the world, musicals. I thought that swing dancing, the Amazing Race/movie night were both fun. The library tour was very helpful also; I felt like I got to know the campus and study spots in the library and was comfortable with both by the time classes began.
  • Our professor was great! He had a good combination of being laid back and approachable, but also being professional.
  • Our speech class was really fun, but the amazing race with the movie at the end was a real bonding experience for our group as well.
  • Painting the ducks at Silver Lake with my class was a highlight for me.
  • Thank you so much for my new appreciation of Sondheim’s work. My new favorite musical is Into the Woods. I really gained a lot of insight in our class discussions. It was interesting to compare gospel insights to different themes presented in Sondheim’s plays.
  • Thank you so much for teaching this class. It was an excellent introduction to speech.
  • Thank you so much for the opportunity that this class was! I really loved getting a jump start, and this class really sparked my interest. I wish all my classes were more like it, with stimulating discussion, new ways to look at things, and the atmosphere in the classroom. It was amazing!
  • Thank you so much! I am going to keep doing art for fun and illustrate my journal.
  • The best part of LSH was being around so many fun kids and really getting to know some neat people before classes even started. By the first day of real classes I felt so comfortable on the BYU campus. I still hang out with friends I met at LSH and I love running into people I met in LSH. I am so glad I did Late Summer Honors-way worth it.
  • The class time.
  • The class was amazing! I loved it - it was intellectually stimulating and fun!
  • The closing dance was really great - the DJ was especially good and there was just enough people there to make it fun. I also really enjoyed the Sunday devotional and the FHE; they did a great job, and made me really think about who I am and who I wanted to become while here at school.
  • The fireside was my highlight. I’ve never been to anything quite like it!
  • The opening social was really fun. Thank you!
  • This class was life-changing. It was intense but also laid-back enough that I didn’t feel intimidated. It was a wonderful introduction that made me excited for college.
  • This was a really amazing class! I think I’m going to take the full semester Dante class sometime soon. I especially liked how spiritual our discussions could be, which surprised me in the context of a 1300s piece of literature. This was a great class, and I’d highly recommend it.
  • Well, I pretty much had the best class but the amazing race was a lot of fun too.
  • You were absolutely wonderful and I really enjoyed reading Another Testament of Jesus Christ.
  • You’re amazing. My level of interest in the subject prior to taking the class was quite low, but I thoroughly enjoyed every moment in class.
